Summer and sun always bring out the best colors ever. I might stay in the “oranges” all season.

Gotsta be the loudest pink ever.
Truly calls for skin bronzed by the sun and sand between your toes.
I do need a vacation.
China Glaze – “Flip-Flop Fantasy”
I could do dots anytime anywhere.
Still my very favorite.
Always.
Just a dot girl.

I love my nails… really I do.
But…. I was sitting at my desk yesterday and typing. All of a sudden I just got an OVERWHELMING urge to just chop my nails off.
They were kinda in the way.
So, I did. And though I might miss them, they are gone. For now. 🙂
“Kiss Me On My Tulips” – OPI
Back to some “regular” polish. And faster typing speed. And productivity from not being so dainty and prissy with my hands. LOL
At least for a little while.
I felt creatively stumped the past week. I was absolutely lazy too… ended up polishing my nails three different colors.
kinda random but they were all in the same family so it probably looked purposeful. it wasn’t.
and since I am not quite ready to cut my nails off yet, I couldn’t pin down any nail art that excited me enough to polish….
then. this happened.
i can never deny the call for a french manicure. I love this look. especially at this nail length. but of course, I couldn’t be too standard. I tossed in a black tip or two in there. 🙂
No chip, of course. It’s gotta last. *fingers crossed* 🙂
Inspiration is so interesting.
I have had this photo album for over a decade and a half, I’m sure.
…front facing photo is older than that. SMH (OMG I AM OLD – the horror!!)
I see it every time I am in my living room.
…..and all of a sudden, I wanted something similar on my nails.
Base of a white no-chip polish. I used a variety of “regular” OPI and butter London polishes for the colored “bricks”.
I hope that this lasts on my nails for a couple of weeks – I really like all the colors.
I remember first learning about “calico” from my grandparents’ cat.
Oddly, I liked that cat….. but I no longer possess that sentiment about animals.
I don’t hate them, I guess…. but I don’t want them around me. I don’t like animal hair… or dander. I’m allergic.
I’m more a puppy person…. but dogs stink too. hahaha
….That’s some no-chip polish design action going on…. 🙂

So, I know I’ve been pretty negligent in blogging…. but as you can see, I’ve been busy. Lol.
And I’m exhausted. All my creative energy is drained, and I need to re-up.
I’m excited and anxious… and just trying to stay calm!!! This will definitely be a ride. Hope you’ll join me… and stay tuned.
p.s. my nails feel even more neglected than the blog. I promise to pay more attention to both in just a second.
A lot goes into stamping. It’s much more difficult than all the konad enthusiasts, nail polish bloggers, and tv commercials let on. I have much more respect for stampers now. For real.
I couldn’t keep the stamping straight (I tried so hard!) haha…so I had to add some tiny dots to try to distract… lol. I hope it worked.
OPI – “Tutti Fruiti Tonga”
Konad plate - m15 (white special polish)
white acrylic paint dots w/super small dotting tool
I think this is the most delicate design so far.
Now for the shortcut!
I realized that I would be using WAY too many paper towels, cotton squares and ENERGY at this pace. So, I came up with the idea to use an acetone soaked sponge to clean the stamper, scraper and plates…as I stamped.
The apex of this idea came from the Butterfly! She suggested I use a soapdish as the container to hold the sponge!!!!!! This child is a genius. GENIUS!! It’s the perfect shape and the shallow depth accommodates easy swipes of the plates and holder. No paper towel or cotton square waste! And when not in use, I can cover the top. SOLUTION!
