gelish – “Little Princess” w/ gold leopard spots
Sheer no-chip base color makes this design just neutral enough. Then there is that spot of gold to subtly jazz up my design.

Needed some glitter in my nail life. Some “glitzy-shiny”.
gelish – “Allure” with gold leaf flakes & loose gold glitter
Regular polish is so much fun.
I was playing in acetone (read: doing a client’s manicure), and forgot I didn’t have on no-chip polish…. so I got to change my polish (read: my manicure got trashed, lol).
That’s when I realized, I can’t wait for summer. Not necessarily for the heat…. because y’all know how much I LOVE snow… but, I can’t wait for the summer colors! I got a jumpstart:
OPI – “In My Back Pocket”, “Greenwich Village” & “The It Color”
w/ my remaining gold and glitz polishes from before & acrylic paint animal print
….from no-chip polish, that is.
As practical as no-chip manicures seem to be, they completely eliminate the absolute FUN of manicures!!!!
I need to go back to the “convenience” of changing my polish and nail designs at least two or three times a week. No-chip is just way too much maintenance for that scenario. I know, I know…. people LOVE no-chip! Some anyway….
Lots of people complain that it thins their nails, removal is a burden…. it’s more expensive…. etc., etc… But, of course, it has supporters too: long-wearing, super shiny, strengthens nails, less maintenance, non-smudging immediately after service, manicure that stands up to nail abuse, lol.
It would be practical for me, while I dabble in acetone every day, to have a no-chip. BUT IT’S NOT AS MUCH FUN!!! I promise.
So back to regular polish right now.
China Glaze – “Escaping Reality”
OPI – “ Goldeneye” layered with “When Monkeys Fly!”
Excitement about OPI’s new Bond Collection “Skyfall 007”!!
I finally picked up the collection over the weekend. The colors are definitely season appropriate.
I LOVE Bond movies. And really, I love the old black and white ones. Pierce Brosnan was a great Bond…. so this manicure will be my mini- ode to him. LOL. But my FAVORITE will always be Sean Connery.
OPI – “GoldenEye”
The glitter is so dense, it looks like textured gold foil on my nails. It’s a dark amber gold, so even though it’s blingy, it seems tamer. Like understated sophistication.
This will be perfect for Christmastime manicures. I can’t wait.
Felt like a princess with a little crown after this manicure.
Maybe my expectations are too high now because I am not at all enamored with the formulation of this polish. It’s a pretty color, but it’s thin, and slightly streaky. You will most definitely have to use a minimum of two coats for any remote coverage and opacity. I will still use it again… because like I said, it’s a pretty color. Plus, I feel like a beautiful girl with it on.
