For New Year’s Eve, I felt like my nails wanted “Go Big Or Go Home”…. and that meant shine bright like a diamond!!  I needed glitz and glitter.

So I pulled out silver iridescent loose glitter in two sizes.

It turned out better than I even imagined. And I loved them.

They were the best party accessory ever.

SweetTarts

Well, my “regular” polish phase ended abruptly when I purchased new gelish no-chip colors this week.  It’s sad that I have polish ADD.  I really don’t know how people WANT to keep the same polish for two whole weeks.  LOL.

So I did my no-chip manicure… let’s see how long I can keep it.  This will definitely be a challenge.  I give myself until Sunday before I absolutely have to remove this and change the polish. Smile

See, told you.

Smile

Regular polish is so much fun.

I was playing in acetone (read: doing a client’s manicure), and forgot I didn’t have on no-chip polish…. so I got to change my polish (read: my manicure got trashed, lol).

That’s when I realized, I can’t wait for summer.  Not necessarily for the heat…. because y’all know how much I LOVE snow… but, I can’t wait for the summer colors! I got a jumpstart:

OPI – “In My Back Pocket”, “Greenwich Village” & “The It Color”

Taking a break….

….from no-chip polish, that is.

As practical as no-chip manicures seem to be, they completely eliminate the absolute FUN of manicures!!!!

I need to go back to the “convenience” of changing my polish and nail designs at least two or three times a week.  No-chip is just way too much maintenance for that scenario.  I know, I know…. people LOVE no-chip!  Some anyway….

Lots of people complain that it thins their nails, removal is a burden…. it’s more expensive…. etc., etc… But, of course, it has supporters too: long-wearing, super shiny, strengthens nails, less maintenance, non-smudging immediately after service, manicure that stands up to nail abuse, lol.

It would be practical for me, while I dabble in acetone every day, to have a no-chip.  BUT IT’S NOT AS MUCH FUN!!! I promise.

So back to regular polish right now. Smile

My Lazy Christmas

Merry Christmas y’all!!  Smile

I used up all my energy on everyone else’s Christmas manicures……

…so I ended up with a real lazy manicure for myself.  Nonetheless, I am still feeling festive. lol

Now I’m looking forward to some after-Christmas sales! This holiday season just flew by!

Cirque du Soleil

China Glaze collections make me happy. I picked up their “Cirque du Soleil – Worlds Away” collection last week.  Even the super bright happy colors seems totally winter appropriate to me. lol.  I guess I love a bright color no matter the season.

It already feels like a circus on my hands, and I only used three colors from the collection this time. Looks like the big top tent.

“Hanging In The Balance” (Blue)
Surreal Appeal” (Coral/Pink)
It’s A Trap-Eze” (Glitter in Milky Base)

I think my favorite color is the melon/coral/pink color. (“Surreal Appeal”)  It’s so super warm and glowing!  Oh, and it looks amazing against my skin.  LOL.  So I LOVE it.

I used “White on White” as a base for the glitter polish. (“It’s A Trap-Eze”)

Yay for polish!!  Smile

Bond…James Bond

Excitement about OPI’s new Bond Collection “Skyfall 007”!!

I finally picked up the collection over the weekend.  The colors are definitely season appropriate.

I LOVE Bond movies. And really, I love the old black and white ones. Pierce Brosnan was a great Bond…. so this manicure will be my mini- ode to him. LOL.  But my FAVORITE will always be Sean Connery.

OPI – “GoldenEye”

The glitter is so dense, it looks like textured gold foil on my nails.  It’s a dark amber gold, so even though it’s blingy, it seems tamer.  Like understated sophistication.

This will be perfect for Christmastime manicures.  I can’t wait.  Smile

Midtown Magic…Set the Nude

China Glaze “Midtown Magic – GORGEOUS!    it’s such a pretty color. Chocolate Burgundy –   definitely magical with a pretty gold glitter almost dissolved within.

I know, I know, I was supposed to be on glitter/shimmer hiatus….

….. BUT I COULDN’T HELP IT!  lol.  It’s so sparkly and it was making googly eyes at me.

I striped the tips with Ulta’s “Set the Nude, but next time, I am just wearing the “Midtown Magic”.  all by its lonesome.

Cutest. design. ever.
As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to try it.

So, I used my favorite… OPI “I’m Not Really A Waitress”… striped OPI “Black Onyx across and made a “Glitter Hologram” buckle….

Voila! Santa’s belt.

I absolutely love this design. So fun! Really may work for any time of the year – if you’re a diva…. it’s all in the context.  Because it’s almost December 25th, we’ll just say this is holiday nail art.  Winking smile
