China Glaze – “Sky High-Top”
China Glaze – “Sky High-Top”
I was thinking that Chicago was going to just skip right over Spring. But alas, the weather is starting to get some act right. FINALLY! And with the warming temperatures, I was feeling more playful…on my nails, at least. I started by chopping them off which is always like a fresh start and always seems to make nail art more fun for me. I am also seemingly way more productive. Then…..
A bunch of Essie colors and a couple OPI colors later…. along with some
dots with acrylic paint in: yellow, green, blue, pink and gray
My nails over the last month and a half…… I promise, I’ll get my words back soon
Sinful Colors – “Beautiful Girl” & “Pull Over”
Some random….really pretty color from the Butterfly’s stash
China Glaze – “Flip Flop Fantasy”
PRADA window display/ LaPalm Gel II – “Extreme French Pink” & “Midnight Black” (no chip polish)
LaPalm Gel II – “By The Bay” w/Missoni design
ibd Just Gel – “Whipped Cream”
Sinful Colors – “Innocent” & “Midnight Blue”
Sally Hansen Nail Lacquer Strips –“Love Letter”

ibd Just Gel – “Funny Bone”
w/acrylic paint design
Though I feel like I’ve been neglecting my blog…. I haven’t really been neglecting my nails. So… this is just me playing instant catch up.
Currently:
LaPalm Gel II – “French White” & “Midnight Black”
& silver nail art striper
This is a no-chip design, so I’ll try to get good wear time out of all the time it took to actually paint them.

And here are some of my recent manicures:
LaPalm Gel II – “Birthday Girl”
w/ acrylic paint dots and bow
ibd Just Gel – “Infinitely Curious” & “Whipped Cream”
w/ acrylic paint dots
China Glaze – “ I Herd That”, “Golden Enchantment”/ “Water You Waiting For”, “Skyscraper” (& blue micro glitter)
I feel like it’s snowing everywhere but Chicago.
Snow would totally make my day right now. I mean, it’s almost Christmas and I barely have to wear a coat outside. It’s just ridiculous.
Had to take matters into my own hands.
La Palm Gel II – “By The Bay” (No-chip gel polish)
w/ hand-painted snowflakes, gold & iridescent glitter
I won’t lie…. I just knew we would be waiting a week to find out the final results of this election.
The excitement and calm that I experienced with the election result that Obama would be our president for FOUR MORE YEARS!?!?!?!?! I slept so much better last night.
And WHAT A RELIEF not to have to see another negative political ad for this election!
This Obama-inspired manicure was done for my beautiful client Sophia for her VIP attendance at the McCormick Place election night CELEBRATION for Obama! And her nails most definitely captured the mood of the event!!!! I loved them.
OPI – “Unfor-Greta-Bly Blue”
OPI – “The Living Daylights”
China Glaze – “White On White”
Julep – “Sienna”
w/acrylic paint in blue and red for Obama “FORWARD” logo
GO OBAMA!!!!!!!!
Well, if it wasn’t clear before, this gives away my political preference to date. LOL
But seriously, the OPI Germany Collection (2012) colors are INCREDIBLE!!!!
OPI – “Unfor-greta-bly Blue”
China Glaze – “White On White”
I have my coworkers to thank for this nail art inspiration!! The debate didn’t really move me. *shrugs* Hopefully the next one will.
…it was Autumn.
The temperature just bounced from a beautiful, breezy 78 degrees…..
…..to a dry (low humidity), WINDY 55 degrees.
I need a coat, a scarf and gloves. Right Now!
So, I went with antique Autumn.
OPI – “Don’t Pretzel My Buttons” (2012 Germany Collection)
Inspired by my new twitter friend @LacqueredAffair . . . who has a most wonderful manicure avi….
Though I don’t really do gems on my nails because of my (self-diagnosed) tactile OCD, I loved the design. So, I had to do my own take on the manicure that involved nothing I could easily yank off my nail. LOL.
