Play time

I was thinking that Chicago was going to just skip right over Spring. But alas, the weather is starting to get some act right. FINALLY! And with the warming temperatures, I was feeling more playful…on my nails, at least. I started by chopping them off which is always like a fresh start and always seems to make nail art more fun for me. I am also seemingly way more productive. Then…..

A bunch of Essie colors and a couple OPI colors later…. along with some
dots with acrylic paint in: yellow, green, blue, pink and gray

Graphic Art

When Cheryl asked me to be a guest on the blog, I must admit I was extremely flattered! Thanks Cheryl!!!

I have always loved graphic art designs and decided to try my hand at it in a Pedi.  Surprisingly, I liked it so much I did a matching mani!

This look was inspired by Love4Nails….it reminds me of Mardi Gras! Don’t ask me why, it just does.

The colors I chose are all by China Glaze…the base color is Style Wars, an outrageous Orange that is nothing less than gorgeous when worn alone. The accent colors are Turned Up Turquoise, a familiar color here on Polish2Times, and Frostbite, an absolutely breath taking blue with just the right amount of shimmer. I then used Yellow, Black and White Stripe Rites to create random stripes and dots.

Had I known I was going to be asked to share on the blog, I would have taken pictures of the process and tried not to be so messy.  Next time I’ll be prepared…LOL!

Hope you have as much fun as I did creating some graphic designs.  Enjoy!!!

China Glaze–“Turned Up Turquoise” (neon) (matte)

I’m starting to believe that nail polish companies do what they can to keep top coat polish makers in business.  Matte colors should NOT bother me…. but they do.  I like the brilliance and shine on a freshly painted nail.  I attempted to purchase a mattifier top coat… but I couldn’t make myself purchase it.  Maybe one day… *shrugs*.

…So, I added a brilliant topcoat shine with Seche Vite to this color too….

At any rate…. This China Glaze “Turned Up Turquoise” is beautiful. I think this is supposed to be a “summer color” but why limit yourself?  Life is too short not to have fun…whenever you want!

This color looks so much “greener” to me in real life.  Photos seem to only pick  up the blue.
