I’m Cheryl. Cheryl.
I’ve been polishing my nails for about 27 years.
I’m only 28… so I guess you already know, I was a child genius ;-).
I used to be an “avid” nail biter. In order to stop, I posted a picture of LaToya Jackson, with her super long nails back in the day, on my dorm room wall, and prayed every day after looking at the picture that God would help me stop biting my nails. Guess it worked.
I’m an attorney, but started cosmetology school about 5 years after law school.
I worked in a salon for 4 months. LOVED working in a salon….missed the legal paycheck.
Although I went to the salon to do hair, the owner had me doing manicures and pedicures more than anything. That was some shady mess…. but I have always loved polish, so it still ended up fun.
And I’m still doing my nails….
and now I’m sharing it with you… after wonderful encouragement from friends, and effective nudging from my sister/friend Sheryl (shout out!).

I am so tickled. Such a unique expression and quite lovely. How could we ever ever forget you? You are so wonderfully unique.
I don’t think I have the dexterity to do all those fancy fingernails movements, but I love painting my toes. I shall stay tuned for all things “Cheryl.”

This is cool.. Cute idea for a blog. I’m 26 but I’ve only been doing my nails for about 2 months now.. And just recently like in the past month wanting to try actual designs and not just plain colors lol… I love it. I was also a nail biter for 13 years!!! Cheryl, I would have never thought you were a nail biter. Maybe by the time I got to Oakwood you stopped because I always remembered you having such beautiful hands and nails. Well I’ll be following your blog…it’s so fun to see the pics and read. The only time I’ve bitten my nails is when I stress. Right now they are HIT! Tash!!! 🙂 yeah, I had pretty much stopped biting my nails by the middle of high school. haha. Thanks for the compliment on my hands. WOW. I still bite the sides of my nails (like where you get hangnails) when I’m stressed. I try to keep them moisturized though so I won’t be able to. Yes, PLEASE stop stressing. Not worth it…. polish your nails… it relaxes me. 🙂 Glad you are enjoying the blog!!!!! Love you back!!!

I”m still trying to kick my nasty nail biting habit. Maybe I need to post your nails on my wall and you can be my LaToya Jackson. I’ve kicked it before…I don’t know what my deal is now. Ugh! So gross!

Awwww, that is so sweet of you… my nails aren’t even long anymore. Keeping them shorter allows me to be so much more productive LOL.
I still have a REALLY bad habit of chewing on my cuticles and the skin around my nails though. I try to keep cuticle nippers and oil with me all the time to cut down on it. But when I’m anxious or stressed…..smh. I just can’t help it.
You gotta dress your nails up more so you won’t want to bite them 🙂
